How to Make a Paper Squishy Safely

Print one A4 sheet, assemble the front and back, and follow age-appropriate safety steps.

Both pieces are on one sheet

Print the PDF on one side of A4 paper at 100% or Actual Size. Cut the front and back along the solid lines, turn the back piece over, and align the edges.

Seal and fill

Join the edge with paper tape or child-safe non-toxic glue, leaving the marked opening. Add small amounts of crumpled tissue or soft filling, then close the opening. A loosely filled squishy presses more easily.

  • Print: A4, 100%, one-sided
  • Filling: crumpled tissue, paper towel, or soft stuffing
  • Adhesive: paper tape or child-safe non-toxic glue

Make it with an adult

An adult should cut or closely supervise children ages 4–7. Use rounded children's scissors. Stop using the finished craft if it tears or any small piece comes loose.

  • Do not use craft knives, hot glue, or staples
  • Do not add beads, water beads, liquids, or balloons
  • Not for children under age 3
